Fort of blankets: dante, moral ambiguity, and the red herring of neutrality.
The hottest places in Hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis preserve their neutrality.
This is often attributed to Dante Alighieri, but was actually said by John F. Kennedy, and he didn’t get it quite right either. I don’t believe in hell and I don’t…Seriously, read spurisani’s addendum to this.

Because Anime Sols is a thing and I need more old anime in my life: welcome to the watch list, Space Knight Tekkaman and Ninja Warrior Tobikage!
In Tekkaman (1975), Earth is doomed on two fronts: on one hand, terrible pollution; on the other, alien invasion. Johji Minami hopes to avenge his father and complete his work by helping humans move beyond the Solar System, and he fights with the robot Pegas and the powered armor that allows him to become Tekkaman. Notable credits include:
- Katsuji Mori as Johji Hayami. He also played Ken the Eagle in Gatchaman and Go Mifune in Speed Racer
- Miyuki Ueda as Hiromi Tenchi. She voiced pilots in the two super robot series I watched most recently: Combattler’s Chizuru Nanba and Voltes V’s Megumi Oka.
- Yasuo Yamada as Andro Umeda. His best known role is Lupin III, which he held until his death in 1995.
- Co-directed by Hisayuki Toriumi, whose other credits include Speed Racer, Gatchaman, and the Area 88 OVA.
Ninja Warrior Tobikage (1985) tells the story of a group of friends living on the Mars colony, where everyone is either a soldier or a laborer. Joe Maya dreams of returning to Earth, and he gets that chance when he becomes caught in a war between alien powers and only he and his friends can operate ninja robots! Featuring:
- Kazuhiko Inoue as Joe Maya. Inoue is one of Japan’s most accomplished voice actors and his career continues, with recent roles including Kakashi in Naruto and adult Flit Asuno in Gundam AGE.
- Noriko Hidaka as Jenny Ai. Another prolific seiyuu, her most famous roles include Akane Tenma in Ranma 1/2, Kikyo in Inuyasha, and Noriko Takaya in Aim for the Top! Gunbuster.
Expect to see these popping up on my blog in the coming weeks! (And if you don’t care, now you know what tags to block.)
Oh, it gets better, my friend… Daisuki.net launched today, too.

Metallic Red 3DS, Eevee XL coming to Japan
Nintendo will release two more 3DS editions across the Pacific, including an Eevee-themed/striped XL that will be sold through a lottery at Pokémon Center locations starting June 22.
The Metallic Red system is a standard-sized 3DS that will hit stores in Japan on June 13.
PREORDER Pokemon X and Y, upcoming releases
I… I kinda like that Eevee one… too bad it’d be impossible to get here. :(
Hey Z!!!

Can someone from the sciencey side of tumblr please explain this ?
This is called shape memory. It’s made from an alloy of titanium and nickel (I believe it’s called nitinol). It has the ability to “remember” the shape it’s taken.
When cold you can bend it whatever which way, but once you heat it (or in this case put it in what I presume is hot water) it will take the original shape.
WHAT!!?!?!?!?

I’ve heard of this method being used to fix resin ball-jointed dolls that have been dented or gnawed on by pets. Briefly immersing the piece in water results in the resin popping back out into its original, cast form.
It’s pretty awesome. :D

IDK...: Please, don't make fandom look bad.
I never post on Tumblr, so I’m hoping my few followers can help me get this word out by reblogging…
I work for a hotel that hosts a major US con every year. I love anime and I go to cons myself, but I am going to be blunt about some of the problems we have and how we deal with them. I don’t…
